Dividend capture leaderboard

For every company: what happened each time someone bought at the close on the last day before the ex-date and sold at the close on payment day, across every dividend since 2017. The result counts the dividend plus the price change. Tap a row to see every dividend and what repeating it would have made.

Average result is the simple average of every finished trade. Closing prices from DFM, before trading fees and any tax, not adjusted for bonus shares or rights issues. Companies with only one or two dividends can show extreme numbers by chance. Past results do not predict future ones. Information only, not investment advice.

Dividend calendar strategy

A test of chaining dividend trades through one calendar year, 1 January to 31 December: the whole amount goes into one company before its ex-date, comes out on payment day with the dividend, then moves to the next company in the calendar. Pick a past year to see how it would have gone, using Taqrir's picks or your own companies.

How the money goes in
Companies

How Taqrir picks for a year: only results from BEFORE that year are used, so the test does not peek ahead. A company qualifies with at least 3 past dividends, a positive average result and a gain at least 60% of the time; when two trades overlap, the better past average wins. Money is in one company at a time and the next trade starts after the previous payment day. Half and half: half the amount buys at the last close before the ex-date (and gets the dividend), the other half buys at the ex-date close (no dividend), and all of it comes out at the payment-day close. Closing prices from DFM, before trading fees and any tax. Past results do not predict future ones. Information only, not investment advice or a recommendation.
